What is Nuclear energy ?

Nuclear energy is making from the binding energy that is stored in the centre of atom and holds it together.To release the energy,atom has to be turned split into the smaller atoms. This process is called fission.In the nuclear power stations, the heat caused by fission is used to boil water into making steam. The steam is then used to drive a turbine that drives generators to make electricity.


How does nuclear energy make electricity ?

The blue color comes from radiation from fission reactions.These fuel rods are usually enriched uranium where the proportion of fissile uranium is 20% or more. This allows the fuel to participate in a chain reaction of fission, causing more fuel to participate in fission As a result of this reaction, the heat carrier medium which is water is heated. This heated water enters the water in another circuit and heats it to produce steam which turns a turbine. This rotation produces electricity from an alternator.

How does generator work by the fission reaction ?

The core is the small red box in the reactor at left.The red box in the diagram above is the core. It contains hot water which collects the heat generated by the fission reaction as it reaches high pressure and temperature.Temperature is controlled by lowering control rods into the core The blue color comes from the fission reaction which is visible even after the fuel rods are removed in the empty reactor above.
